The
Car Shots were a challenge to freeze an instant that would
otherwise pass without notice. The goal, to align elements
near and far, using split second reflexes. The success of
a Car Shot depended on the dynamic between focus and blur.
The hardest to achieve, and most satisfying, held a midpoint
in focus while foreground and background kept moving. The
finished image stretched new shapes out of familiar objects
bringing them to life and adding an edge of excitement to
a straight photograph.
